Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum night stay?

There is a two-night minimum stay at all our cabins, and most weekends have a three-night minimum. This is in place because we think you need at least a couple of nights to properly switch off and experience Rest + Wild.

Each month, we open up two-night weekend stays. These usually fall on the first weekend of the month. We’ll keep you updated on social media when these are released.

If the dates you want are unavailable, you can sign up to our waitlist by clicking on your chosen dates on the bookings page.

What do I need to bring?

While we provide all the cooking equipment and additional food hampers at our Shropshire site can be purchased here, all our cabins are self-catered.

In the winter months, we’d recommend packing some slippers, warm socks and pyjamas for when you first wake up, before the fire gets going.

Wellies or walking boots, along with a waterproof are also good additions to your travel bag so you can explore the local area whatever the weather.

And food?

Our cabins are self-catered. Inside you’ll find a fridge and gas hob, along with pots, pans, and kitchenware, and cooking essentials like olive oil and salt. Your outdoor fire pit is also great for cooking on.

Food hampers are available at our Shropshire site and must be pre-ordered 72 hours prior to check-in. These can be purchased here and they will be at your cabin ready for when you arrive.

If you’re wanting a total break from cooking, we will be recommending our favourite local spots to eat and drink in our Welcome Pack, which you will receive pre-arrival.

How do I check in/out?

We operate a remote check in and out process. Closer to your time of arrival, we’ll send you a lockbox code to access the key. Details on the check out process will also be provided in your Welcome Pack.

Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is at 10:30am.

Can I arrange for an early check-in and/or late check-out?

Yes. For an additional fee, you can choose to check in early at 2pm (usually 4pm), and check out by 12:30pm (usually 10:30pm). This can be bought at the time of booking, or added later to your booking via our website.

I’m bringing my dog. What do I need to know?

Yes, dogs are very welcome with us, however, due to roaming livestock, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

In order for us to provide you with a stake and long lead, please do let us know in advance if you are bringing a dog. Upon booking we will ask for the breed of your dog. This is so we can keep the farmer updated as to the type of dogs on site at any one time, and to identify them in the event that they go missing.

There is an additional fee of £25 per dog for the extra cleaning, which will be taken at the time of booking. As per our terms and conditions, owners are liable for any damage your dog causes to the cabin or the surrounding farmland and livestock.

What is there to do in and around the cabins?

There’s a deck of cards, chequers and books provided in every cabin to keep you entertained whatever the weather. We’d highly recommend getting the fire pit going for a BBQ or to roast some marshmallows late into the evening.

How many people does the cabin fit?

Each cabin is designed for two people, but there is space for a travel cot if you are bringing a little one.

Do the cabins have electricity?

There are two USB sockets in the cabin designed for charging phones.

An additional power bank with regular sockets can be requested when booking to charge any extras (laptops, cameras, etc). These power banks do not support high wattage devices such as hairdryers and straighteners.

And WiFi?

We don’t have WiFi at the cabins because we like to encourage you to switch off from the noise and notifications while you’re with us. Both sites do have good phone reception should you need to be online.

What is the bathroom like

Each cabin has a rainfall shower, basin, and toilet, so it will feel just like home. We provide basic toiletries and fresh towels too.

Can I pre-order food hampers or wine?

Yes. You can pre-order food and drink hampers in Shropshire (including our popular pizza-making kits). Please note that food hampers have to be ordered 72 hours prior to check in so we can ensure they’re waiting for you in your cabin on arrival. Take a look at our offering for Shropshire here.

You can also pre-order drinks at our Exmoor location. The menu for this can be found here.

Can I drive right up to the cabin?

The cabins are set away from the road, to help fully immerse you in nature. Designated parking is available 60-250m from your cabins.

At all our sites we try to limit our intervention as much as possible, so while there are paths to your cabin, if there has been heavy rainfall, we recommend you pack some wellies or walking boots for accessing your cabin (and exploring the local surroundings afterwards).

Do I need a car to visit a cabin?

Cars are the easiest mode of transport. But both locations have nearby train stations (Ludlow and Tisbury) and we can recommend taxi firms.
